Adolescent/youth are especially vulnerable to HIV and STI because of their recent pubertal changes, low level of knowledge regarding HIV, poor self control, availability and accessibility to sex workers and risky sexual behavior. Sharing information regarding sex and sexuality are not culturally accepted in Bangladesh. Additionally, parents, teachers and community leaders are not comfortable in openly discussing such topics among youth. Most elements of the community (partners, teachers, community and religious leaders) are highly suspicious of outside ‘interference’ and the dissemination of information on sexuality or STI is not socially accepted. (A 2005 baseline HIV/AIDS survey among youth in Bangladesh). Youth aged 15-24 years account for one-fifth of the total population of Bangladesh and contribute significantly in shaping the future of the nation. So youth should get the messages to lead a safe life. Football game can be one of innovative ideas to give messages on HIV, STI, drugs to youths. Now a day’s youth observe valentine day with high attention. If we arrange a football game in a well decorated playground by messages of HIV on valentine day youth have a chance to learn through fun. Following these information A.F.M. Iqbal created a game called Safe Love Football match. Game idea is that all players will wear special jersey with the name of HIV, STI, hepatitis B, C etc. One team promised to save their goal post from HIV, STI etc. When a player will make a goal the will break their promise and they have STI, HIV. No team will win but loose by getting different diseases. A quiz sheet will distributed to all viewers and they will get the answer from the messages board, commentary of the game and discussion with their peer. Viewers will get prize if they give correct answers. Light House, a local NGO in partnership with Center for Social Communication and Chircut Creative Production organized Safe Love Football match on February 14, 2009 at Iqbal Road play ground.
