Using digital video technology and participatory techniques, the DIVO project creates a virtual meeting place for young British and Ghanaian schoolgirls to explore the issues of gender and sexual health. The aim of the project is to stimulate and support dialogue across a cultural divide.
The participants come from Nima in Accra and from the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School in London. Each group took part in digital filmmaking and technology workshops in their own country, and through drama workshops learned new communication and storytelling skills.
The two groups filmed their work and communicated by posting video clips to an interactive website, and via video conferences.
