It is unacceptable that major oil companies such as Shell, Exxon/Chevron, TotalFinaElf and Agip continue the practice of gas flaring in such quantities in Nigeria. As the G8 Summit and its primary focus on the African development problem dawns upon us, we must urgently stop wasting this natural resource.
