I want to travel to the forgotten parts of the world, but I don’t want to be caught in the crossfire. I want to stand beside it. I want to show the damage it does to the people and the environment it destroys. I want to know what the story is like between the lines on the ground - human interest stories that can connect people from different backgrounds and every corner of the world. Specifically, I want to focus on the women who are often neglected by the media during these times, when they are usually the ones who keep the families together and rebuild the communities. Women play vital roles in the development and post-conflict reconciliation of their communities. Without their influence and help, many things would go unchanged. I want to experience life in places where voices have been silenced, stories gone untold, and entire cultures forgotten. As a journalist who has spent long hours researching numerous unreported crisis in the world, I feel it is my responsibility to share them with the world. It is like an insatiable thirst to know more, do more, so I can help others understand what they don’t know. I can\'t sit here much longer and read about it. I want to be in the field. I want to meet the people. I want to know what life is like for them so I can truthfully share their stories with others.
